Literature Text

I want you to grow up.
Push aside your insecurities,
Push them aside like loose dirt.
Grow up. nd up. And then farther.
Dance around the "what-will-they-think"s.
Firmly put down the "what-if"s, like
They are rabid animals and you
Have a family to protect.

Grow up and learn to love the
Sun, just because it's shining.
Learn to think for yourself.
Strangle the rocks which were
Holding you back, crush them until
They are pulverised into
A million billion peices, like so much
Dirt, important only because it is
Part of the dirt of your past.

Throw out flowers, okay and it
Doesn't matter the color, shape, or
Size, just that they're yours, that
makes then beautiful, I promise.
Then throw out leaves and make the
Land yours, blot out the sun from
Those who would crowd you and
Take from you and never never never
Give back, don't let them do that to you,
okay? Okay, okay, okay. Grow up.
Second poem for poetry club. This is addressed to someone in particular, as was the last one. If you know who you are--we should talk. If not--well. You haven't grown up yet.

Prompt: Growth

Lovely. I like the imagery and the message woven throughout-not stuck entirely on the end.
